Garden House

Hampshire Garden House

Renovating this country house for some dear clients who Emma has known and worked with over many years, celebrated the property’s history while updating it for modern living. Despite the restrictions of an older building, Emma used her considerable vision to bring back its heart, deciding to reconfigure the centre of the house. The front door was relocated, creating an entrance hall from the original dining room. The staircase was also repositioned, now housed in a purpose built brick extension to the back of the house. An ensuite bathroom was added, designed from lost space on an unused mezzanine in the adjacent games room. Bringing forward the kitchen from the dark rear of the house meant, with windows on both sides, it now enjoys stunning views across the pretty gardens and open countryside beyond.
