Suffolk House

Suffolk House

A lighter, more contemporary colour scheme was needed to refresh the interior of this lovely country house in rural Suffolk. The renovation was designed around a lifetime of personal pieces the clients had collected together. Emma helped to select favourite items for reupholstering, choosing fabrics from William Yeoward for soft furnishings and new curtains. The colour scheme was partly inspired by the family’s beautiful rug collection. The client was delighted by Emma’s help in finding a fabulous Manuel Canovas Faberge Egg wallpaper for the cloakroom. A renovation is often the perfect opportunity to stand back and review each room with a fresh pair of eyes. We spent some time rethinking the placement of furniture in the Drawing Room, a notably long room, for a more comfortable layout to the sofas and occasional tables. The changes were finished in time for a sister project which Emma also undertook – an extensive and significant renovation of the clients’ London property in Pimlico.

Client Comments

“We feel in working with Emma that we have a house which reflect our choices and taste, not something “imposed” by a designer. This was crucial for both of us. Emma also has an exceptional eye for detail – nothing escapes! we are delighted with the results.”
