Lysia Street

Lysia Street

A multi-phased commission for a London home, this project stage shows The Studio’s significant redevelopment of a family kitchen. An existing side return extension was replaced by a structural full width, modern, glazed living/kitchen/dining extension, far better designed for family living. The sleek, contemporary linear kitchen is a handleless design by Andrew Macintosh, with the emphasis on storage drawers rather than cupboards. Light floods into the new room through folding glass doors leading into the garden and a roof lantern, centrally placed over the kitchen area, allows light in but restricts summer heat. A compact laundry room is located in the centre of the house and doubles as a bar area to serve parties and the evening G&T’s.
