Upstairs
Emma is often brought in to modify a family home once the children have grown up. For the upstairs of this extensive renovation, bespoke joinery was commissioned to modernise the bedrooms with new windows, built-in wardrobes and shelving. Updated artwork, bedside tables and lighting have given the rooms a more stylish finish for the visiting young. On the top floor, complete with air conditioning, a gym was installed in the spare room, alongside the client’s study. Detail is the hallmark of this refurbishment: working with a specialist carpet company ensured the exact shade was matched to replace a much loved previous fitted carpet. Colour schemes around the house often complement one other in Emma’s designs. In the master bathroom, a shade of deep turquoise from Paint & Paper Library for the bathroom panelling was chosen to match Pierre Frey’s vibrantly retro Paris wallpaper. With the addition of two new sash windows and the client’s original Linley green leather sofas, Emma has converted a small landing upstairs into a mid-way morning room. These small but transformative details show what becomes possible when undertaking a comprehensive renovation.

Client Comments
“Emma helped us with extensive renovations both in London and our country house. In both cases, the extent of what we were doing was potentially overwhelming. Emma was very good at recognising and absorbing what we liked and providing choices in that light.”
